oh what fleeting moments I should capture, oh what memories I should still possess

So Two Seasons Ago

My nephew Logan, posing in front of the soccer field. What I see is a young man with long hair and a sense of humor. What I think of is how these kids are growing up so fast that I can hardly keep up. What I feel is that they should stop it.

When you were three years old

you would take off like a shot.

You ran away from me so fast…

the only difference now is

I can’t catch you.

  1. I see a kid full of joy – just absorbing LIFE and exulting in it.

    • I think that’s very accurate! Both of my nephews know how to find the joy in life.

  2. I see that cute little kid that we took to Funland. I remember him asking me if I would go with you again…and would I bring more quarters next time. He was adorable then, and he is pretty darn cute now too.

    • I had forgotten the quarters thing, so funny. He turned out to be the kind of kid who won’t ask for things, and has a hard time accepting money especially. He is turning out pretty good. I remember when he was that age and I wondered what he would be like as a young man. I thought those days were so far away, but here they are in a blink.

You’re little guy is growing up faster and faster, too. Every time I see a new picture on FB, I get a little sad about it. Why must they grow so fast?
