oh what fleeting moments I should capture, oh what memories I should still possess

run for it

This is my Aunt & Uncle's farm and the kids are headed to the creek (and it's little pond) that's just inside the tree line at the bottom of the hill. What I see is boys making the most of a beautiful day. What I think of is all the times in my life when walking wasn't fast enough for me, either.

Sometimes ya

just gotta run.

  1. When you get to be my age a nice stroll is sufficient…anything more is excessive and requires a nap after.

    • You crack me up, Patricia! Actually, when I speak of needing to run, it’s more of a desire than a possibility. My back and knees hurt just looking at these kids.

  2. From someone else who likes the idea and eager anticipation of the thought of running toward something but who cannot literally run anywhere herself these dayss, I love the photo and the sentiment.

    • I love being a part of this club with you all! That’s what it is, too – eager anticipation and sheer joy. I figure I can feel those without having to do the actual running. And really, it’s enough for me to see these things come alive in the kids. 🙂
