oh what fleeting moments I should capture, oh what memories I should still possess

adjusting my focus

What I see is the edge of a pier post. I like how this picture turned out, with the further edge of the post looking crisp against the water beyond. What I think is that I had to do a little work to get the focus exactly where I wanted it.

Simple can be harder than complex:

You have to work hard to get your thinking clean

to make it simple.

  1. Brilliant photo! I see a landscape … mossy, grass covered hill with granite rocks at the base.

    • Thanks, Brian. I like that! It reminded me of a grassy hill, too, or a cliff that I want to look over.

  2. Great shot. And the lesson is apt too–and applies to all aspects of life. I can remember in graduate school (I was an Engish major), one professor would through a new assigment at us on Friday, due on Monday: “Write page paper on X. If you have time, make it 2 pages!” And he was so right, to write less well was a greater challenge.

    • Thanks, Patti. I agree about the lesson, too. I’m trying to simplify my life and I agree that it’s harder to do that than to expand.
