oh what fleeting moments I should capture, oh what memories I should still possess

In Between

What I see is Amanda, standing between the two doors at her house. On May 5th. What I think is she picks out her own clothes.

I asked her to do this,

just so I could take a picture of it.

Does that make me a bad aunt,

a bigger kid than she is,

or just creative?

(By the way, that’s a rhetorical question.)

  1. I love the way kids aren’t afraid to show us who they really are, especially in their choice of clothes–and the way they really don’t care what we think about their choices. Maybe we should be more like them and wear what we want!

    • Yes, if I asked her about the pumpkin on her shirt, I don’t think she’d think it was out of season. I think she just wore what she wanted and that was it. I do wish I cared less what people might think about what I wear or say or how silly I act. I would act very silly indeed if I cared less.

  2. Ha ha! She is so trusting! She needs to live it up with those horizontal stripes. There will come a day when horizontal stripes on the hips will be avoided.

    • No joke! I haven’t worn any kind of stripe in years and years. I’m too short for vertical ones to help me, and I say just best to stay away from any pants that aren’t solid color.
