oh what fleeting moments I should capture, oh what memories I should still possess

storms that didn’t come

What I see is a brilliant sky. What I remember is this is all that became of some ominous looking clouds. What I think is that sometimes we spend so much time preparing for the worst that we don’t take the time to enjoy what is actually in front of us.

If you spend your whole life

waiting for the storm,

you’ll never enjoy the sunshine.

    • Thanks Patricia. That was taken at my aunt and uncle’s house before she died. My uncle was finishing up some work outside, my aunt was inside cooking, and I was running around taking pictures with my phone before the storm. Of course, it never did storm. But these pictures of that sky have preserved a memory for me of that moment, a bit of time that might have otherwise melted into the well of my memories of those Bible study nights. So I am more than grateful for that storm that didn’t come.
